  • kevin lynch
kevin lynch 4 months ago The BLUE whale is the biggest animal ever to live!!!! Never stop learning Dale 😳🤔😂😂😂😂
  • Ericules555
Ericules555 2 months ago (edited) @Evinrude Bison yeah average weight is about 190,000 lbs or so to 200,000, yeah blue whales weight about 40 tons or so more than the Argentinosauras, they weigh about 10 elephants while the blue whale weighs about 50,000-120,000 more on average.
  • Evinrude Bison
Evinrude Bison 2 months ago (edited) @Ericules555 I don't know about the weight of argentinosaurus. I tried to find info on that but they're very unclear about their weight. Someone said as little as 50 tons, but the average seems to be about 100 ton. And that is much less than the heaviest recorded blue whale. But when it comes to dinosaurs it's not that easy to measure if you don't have all the right bones. If you take a quick google on it you will see that they estimate argentinosaurus average weight to be from as little as 50 tom to 150 ton or more. I'm sure they were taller, though, but there are no proof they could weigh as much as an blue whale. Pretty much every source I checked call the blue whale the biggest, or heaviest, animal to inhabit the earth. And I mean in average. A big blue whale would weigh more than a big argentinosaurus anyday I think.
  • Ericules555
Ericules555 2 months ago @Evinrude Bison wiki can be written by anyone, average blue whale size is 70-90 feet 200,000-300,000lbs, the Argentinosauras average length is 121-131 feet and weighing about close to a blue whale except a few tons lighter. Scientists and zooarchaeologists say The largest land animal ever found. In turn is also larger than most blue whales other than the very few oversized ones. It's just like with humans, there's an average height, yet a few humans that are much taller or heavier then the rest, an anomaly of sorts.
  • Evinrude Bison
Evinrude Bison 2 months ago @Ericules555 the Wikipedia page for example call the blue whale the biggest animal to have ever lived, and most sources do as well call them that.
  • Evinrude Bison
Evinrude Bison 2 months ago (edited) @Ericules555 the blue whale can get over 100 ft, and can weigh 200 ton or more. really big blue whales aren't that common today due to hunting. for a blue whale to get to this length and weight they must first and foremost live for about 80 years or more, but really big ones are spotted even today. it's how you define big. I would say blue whales are bigger because they weigh more and in my eyes are simply more gigantic than argentinosaurus.
  • Ericules555
Ericules555 2 months ago @Evinrude Bison not the Argentinosaurus huinculensis, can get up to 131ft in length
  • Evinrude Bison
Evinrude Bison 2 months ago @Ericules555 blue whales are bigger than any dino ever was
  • Ericules555
Ericules555 2 months ago @Bob The Crusader that's the length, couldn't remember, could only remember them being at least 19
  • Bob The Crusader
Bob The Crusader 2 months ago @Ericules555 Blue whales grow up to 90-100 feet...
  • Ericules555
Ericules555 3 months ago (edited) Lol just posted the same thing, blue whales are at least 19 feet or so bigger, although not the biggest ever, that would be dinos, although they may be the longest, not sure.

  • Think Fact
Think Fact 1 month ago True. Did not even think about it when I said it. I was just thinking, "without any more to do" and said that it like that. Haha. I kinda just throw this together, I had no idea it would have gotten so popular. I would have been more careful otherwise. It's been a learning experience. Thanks for the comment.
  • Adrian Fahrenheit
Adrian Fahrenheit 4 years ago I think there's something worth mentioning here. "Ballena Asesina" in spanish literally means "Murderer Whale" (or "Killer Whale"). Whereas the english term "Whale Killer" would be translated into spanish as "Asesina de Ballenas" (literally "Killer of Whales") or "Mata-Ballenas" (literally: "Whale Slayer/Killer"). I hope this helps somehow.
  • Think Fact
Think Fact 4 years ago That is very interesting, thank you!  I wonder if Spanish was different back then to some extent.  Because this happened back during the 16th 17th century.  I definitely know that English has changed quite considerably since then.  But that's a topic for whole other day!  Thank you very much for your comment!  Have a good one too!

  • Augustus McGovern
Augustus McGovern 10 hours ago Really, WTH?! Anybody who has been to the natural history museum(American Museum of Natural history) in New York City on West 80/81 Between Central Park West and Columbus Ave has seen, well if they've gone down to the basement, a stuffed version of a blue whale. If you had an educational event there you are among the many who do this fact. I don't know how anybody could make it to adulthood and not know that the blue whale is the largest mammal. shrug Hopefully he reads the comments section.
